Self-introduction

Nice to meet you! My name is KANJI, and I work as a freelancer.

I graduated from a university in Hiroshima and worked as an engineer at an IT company for 7 years.

As a freelancer, I work as a cloud engineer and also write blogs.

This blog was created as a platform to share my knowledge while working as a freelancer.

Recently, I haven’t focused much on obtaining new certifications, but here are the ones I have earned so far:

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (earned in 2018, expired in 2021)
CompTIA Project+ (earned in 2021)
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (earned in 2019)
Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (earned in 2019)
Python 3 Engineer Certification Basic Exam (earned in 2017)
Fundamental Information Technology Engineer Examination (earned in 2013)

I am especially involved in AWS-related projects and specialize in building infrastructure using IaC and CI/CD. I have experience with many programming languages, including Python, Ruby, VBA, GAS, JavaScript, HCL, and CloudFormation.

Career

February 1993
- Born in Ehime Prefecture.
Elementary School (6 years)
- Joined the mini basketball club.
Junior High School (1st–3rd year)
- Was a member of the swimming club and enjoyed road biking as a hobby.
High School (1st–3rd year)
- Could not attend school regularly due to a chronic illness and had to repeat a year because of frequent absences.
1st Year of University
- Moved out of my parents’ house and entered a university in Hiroshima. Spent most days playing online games.
Winter of 1st Year in College
- Met a great friend and started going out more.
2nd–3rd Year of University
- Continued to hang out with friends. Barely managed to earn enough credits to pass my classes.
3rd Year of University
- Passed the Fundamental Information Technology Engineer Examination to prepare for job hunting.
4th Year of University (Spring–Summer)
- Struggled with job hunting in Tokyo due to poor academic performance. Was rejected by most of the top companies I applied to.
- Received a job offer from a company that visited my university for recruitment.
1st–2nd Year as a Working Adult
- Mainly involved in server design and construction for on-premises environments, VMware environment design and setup, and client PC setup.
3rd Year as a Working Adult
- As my company began focusing on AWS, I was assigned to the company’s first AWS infrastructure project.
6th Year as a Working Adult
- My company started focusing on containers, and I was assigned to the company’s first Amazon EKS design and construction project.
7th Year as a Working Adult
- Worked overtime for about 80 hours per month for several months.
- Tried to negotiate a salary increase, but was told it was not possible due to company policy. Started considering a job change.
8th Year as a Working Adult
- Invested in myself by taking a soft skills consulting course (cost: 600,000 yen).
- Decided to become a freelancer after being inspired by people with a strong growth mindset in the course.
9th Year as a Working Adult
- Resigned from the company I had worked at for eight years and became a freelancer.
